The Wildcat men’s tennis team, ranked No. 14 nationally, downed Big Ten rival Indiana, 5-2 in Bloomington. The ‘Cats won five of six singles matches en route to the win.
Junior Marc Silva, ranked No. 21, won his 17th-consecutive match with a 6-3, 7-6, win over Gabriel Montilla at No. 2 singles. At No. 1 singles, senior Alex Witt, who is 16th nationally, downed Derek Pope in straight sets (6-2, 6-4). Junior Doug Bohaboy, NU’s third nationally-ranked player at 63rd, also defeated Indiana’s Scott Lippitt in straight sets (6-3, 7-6).
Northwestern now stands at 9-3 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten action.
