On Saturday, the University of Kentucky mens and womens cross country teams will start their respective seasons at the Woodford Trials in Nicholasville, Ky. UK will compete against in-state rival Eastern Kentucky. The womens two-mile run begins at 9 a.m. and the mens 5000-meter run starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Woodford County Park. Coach Don Weber said this meet is an opportunity to evaluate his athletes for the first time this year.

“This meet will let us determine what level of fitness our runners are at and to see how summer training went,” Weber said.
