LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team continues Southeastern Conference action this weekend, as the Wildcats hit the road to take on Western Division rivals Arkansas and LSU.
The Wildcats open the road trip when they travel to Fayetteville for a Friday doubleheader with Arkansas (16-33, 8-14 SEC). The Lady Razorbacks ended a six-game losing streak with a 4-3, nine-inning upset of Florida on Wednesday when Jen Cirigliano’s two-out hit scored right fielder Christy Ralph.
UK continues its SEC road swing on Sunday, travelling to Baton Rouge for a twinbill with 10th-ranked LSU. The Tigers (48-7, 18-3 SEC), had a 13-game winning streak halted by a 2-0 loss to Florida on Tuesday, but responded with a 6-2 victory over the Gators in Game 2 of their doubleheader.
Following the weekend’s games, the Wildcats close out the regular season at home with a Wednesday doubleheader with Miami (Ohio) and a pair of doubleheaders with SEC rival Tennessee next weekend.
