SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Kentucky women’s doubles team of Kelly Brown and Massoumeh Emami fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 to Kansas’s Kylie Hunt and Christie Sim in the opening round of the NCAA Championships Sunday.

Juniors Emami and Brown, who entered the single elimination tournament with a No. 15 ranking, finish their season with a 22-9 record. The 24th-ranked UK women’s tennis team finished their season last week at the NCAA Regional semifinals with a 15-9 season record. Emami and Brown were the only two members of the UK squad to advance to the NCAA Championships.
