The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will face the Tulane GreenWave on Saturday, May 15, in first-round regional action of the 1999 NCAAChampionships at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The 20th-ranked Cats (14-9) are making their third-straight NCAATournament appearance. Tulane finished the regular season atop theConference USA standings, racking up an 18-5 record and a No. 37 nationalranking.

No. 16 Vanderbilt (18-6), one of 16 schools to host first- andsecond-round competition, will face Metro Atlantic Athletic Conferencechampion Loyola (15-1) in the other regional match on Saturday, with thetwo winners squaring off on Sunday, May 16, for a trip to the NCAA TennisChampionships in Gainesville, Fla., May 20-28.
