The University of Kentucky volleyball team moved its record to 15-9 on the year, with a 6-5 mark in the Southeastern Conference on Sunday, when Tennessee (17-6, 6-4 SEC) swept the second match of a weekend doubleheader in four games, 14-16, 15-12, 14-16, 8-15.

Kentucky got an early lead in game one, but the Lady Vols ended the Wildcats hopes when they posted a 6-0 run to take the first set. The Wildcats rebounded to take the second set, but UT took advantage of some key UK mistakes and took the final two games and the match.

Senior LaTanya Webb had a big night for the Cats with 23 kills, 10 digs, three block assists and a .349 hitting percentage. Junior Jaclyn Homan recorded 17 kills, eight digs and six block assists for theWildcats, while Katie Eiserman recorded her tenth double-double of theyear with 14 kills and 15 digs in the loss.

“We definitely played Tennessee better than we did on Friday night,”UK coach Jona Braden said. “We had a lot of opportunities to put themaway, but we just didn’t finish when we needed to.”

The Lady Volswere led by freshman Stephanie Knight with 17 kills and six blockassists to go along with her .364 hitting percentage. Freshman ArianaWilson tallied 11 kills and five block assists for Tennessee, whilejunior Chris Jestila racked up 115 kills and 13 digs on the night.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Nov. 6, when theytravel to Georgia to take on the Lady Bulldogs. Kentucky returns homefor its final match of the regular season on Nov. 14, when the LadyGators of Florida travel to Lexington for Senior Day at MemorialColiseum.
