LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team finished fifth at the 14thannual Johnny Owens Invitational at Kearney Hills Golf Links.
UK fired a three-round team total of 897, 17 strokes behind team championMiami of Ohio at 880.
Steve Dixon of Xavier claimed medallist honors, shooting a five-under-parthree-round total of 211. UK’s Jeremy Langley finished in a tie forseventh at 219. Other Cat finishers were John Beckett in 17th with a 222,Jay Knight in 26th with a 226, Chris Mueller in 56th with a 232 and RonLayman in 74th with a 237.
The Cats return to the links next weekend, April 9-10, when they travel toWest Virginia for the Marshall Invitational.
