FULLERTON, Calif. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team dropped a heartbreaker in the finale of the FILA Soccer Classic in Fullerton, Calif., falling to the University of San Diego 1-0 late Sunday. A University of Kentucky own-goal in the 60th minute was the game’s only tally, as the Cats fell to 0-3-0.

The Cats could mount little offense, as UK was outshot by the Toreros 17-7.

USD (1-2-0) also held a 9-2 corner kick advantage. Facing USD’s barrage of offense, UK goalkeeper Chris West tallied eight saves in the loss. The University of Kentucky will look for its first win on Friday, September 11, when it travels to Greensboro, N.C., to take on UNC Greensboro in the Greensboro Classic at 7 p.m.
