The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will try to rebound from a home loss to Ole Miss on Wednesday as the Wildcats hit the road to face Louisiana State on Saturday and Tulane on Sunday.
No. 31 Kentucky (6-4, 2-4 SEC) won the No. 1 doubles match against the Rebels. UK’s Massoumeh Emami and Kelly Brown defeated eighth-ranked Agnes Muzamel and Courtenay Chapman 9-8. The 33rd-ranked UK team is 7-2 on the season, and the No. 2 doubles team of Christy Sigurski and Brooke Skeen boasts a 7-1 slate.
In another important SEC match-up, the Cats will try to hand LSU its second straight conference loss. LSU (8-3, 1-2 SEC), ranked 38th in the country, comes off a 5-4 defeat to the 19th-ranked Gamecocks of South Carolina.
The Tigers’ Jamie Valloton is undefeated in singles with an 11-0 record in dual matches this season. Jennifer Barr has dropped only one match this season.
Tulane (8-3) defeated Central Connecticut State 9-0 on March 7. The Green Wave’s Jennifer Ligator and Stephanie Michael are both 9-2 in singles on the season.
