BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C.-The University of Kentucky women’s golf team concluded its third tournament of its spring season by finishing 12th at the Bryan National Collegiate Golf Tournament Sunday.
After shooting rounds of 325 and 318 on Friday and Saturday, respectively, the Lady Kats stormed out to fire off a spring season best round of 308. The third-round total moved UK up two spots from its 14th place first and second round standing. Leading the way for the Lady Kats during the final round was Katy Loy who fired a two-over par 74 to finish tied for 33rd place. Heather Kraus was UK’s top individual performer for the weekend with her three-round showing of 233 strokes placing her tied for 24th.
Duke fired a three-round total of 903 to finish with the team championship. Georgia, led by individual champion Reilley Rankin, finished nine strokes off the pace for runner-up honors.
UK will see its next action next month at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
