TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team defeated Samford 6-1 Monday.

UK’s senior Cedric Kauffmann, ranked No. 6 in the country, defeated Samford’s Bernie Staub6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles spot to lead Kentucky to a 6-1 win over the Bulldogs.

Carlos Drada, Johan Hesoun, Dan Spaner and Patrik Johansson each picked up singles victories for Kentucky (12-4, 1-1), while the Wildcats swept all three doubles matches.

Robert Sproul was the lone winner for Samford (5-4) as he defeated UK’s Marcus Fluitt, 6-4, 6-3.

The Wildcats will compete next against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Tuesday, March 17.
