LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky track standouts, Roshell Russell and Andrew Channer, received All-America honors after charting season-best performances at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Indianapolis, Ind., on Saturday.
Russell received the honor after posting a season-best time of 54.30 in the women’s 400-meter run. Her sixth place showing led the Wildcats while Texas’ Suzianne Reid finished in first place with a time of 52.57 seconds.
Channer jumped 24 feet, 7.25 inches for an eighth place finish in the long jump competition to garner his All-American award. He was the only member of the UK men’s track and field team to qualify for the championships.
