COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team dropped its first match of the season on Sunday, falling 6-2 to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Cats (6-1) dropped four of six singles matches to the 21st-ranked Gamecocks (2-0) and dropped both doubles contests. On a positive note for the Wildcats, UK’s Christy Sigurski upset 69th-ranked Jennifer Radman, 0-6, 6-1, 6-3, to improve to 7-0 in dual matches this season.
The Cats return to the courts Saturday, Feb. 27, when they travel to Oxford, Miss., to face Ole Miss.
