LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Rifle Team hopes to capture its first road victory when it travels to Alabama this weekend to face Jacksonville State.

The Wildcats (1-1) are coming off of a loss to Murray State University last Sunday. Last Saturday the Cats defeated Ohio State in their home opener in Lexington.

The Cats are led by senior Mary Elsass, who is a three time All-American in both smallbore and air rifle. Last weekend, Elsass finished first in air rifle and second in smallbore against Murray State.

“Jacksonville State is a very respected team that finished fifth at the NCAA Tournament last year,” Coach Harry Mullins said. “Theyve put up some impressive numbers already this season, but if we go down there and work hard I know we can win.”
