LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team hopes to extend its four-game winning streak as the Cats travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face the Tigers in a crucial Southeastern Conference showdown on Friday.

The Wildcats (7-5-2, 4-2 SEC) are coming off a 3-1 victory over Tennessee on Sunday. UK’s Jen McMaster scored two goals in the win to help the Cats clinch a tie for the No. 2 spot in the SEC East.

LSU (7-7-2, 2-4 SEC) shut out Auburn, 2-0, in its last outing. Kristen Hogan leads the Tigers with seven goals and five assists on the season.

“LSU is fighting to make the SEC tournament, so this is a dangerous game for us,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “We need to go in and take care of business to solidify our spot in the SEC.”
