TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team, ranked 15th in the nation, defeated No. 20 Alabama 5-2 Tuesday. Tuesday’s victory marks the second SEC win this season for the Wildcats (13-4, 2-1). At No. 1, senior Cedric Kauffmann beat Alabama’s Francisco Rodriguez 7-6, 6-2. Seniors Marcus Fluitt and Dan Spaner and sophomore Johan Hesoun, also had victories in singles matches. UK’s Kauffmann and Spaner defeated Alabama’s Weglv Chang and Rodriguez 9-7. Kentucky received the doubles point when sophomore Carlos Drada and freshman Edo Bawono beat Alabama’s Alin Taranga and Karim Zaher 9-7. The Wildcats will see action next at South Alabama on March 20.
