The University of Kentucky cross country teams head to Bowling Green, Ky., for Western Kentucky’s Old Timer Classic Saturday, Sept. 19. The men’s team will try to win its second meet of the season after defeating Louisville at the Woodford Trials Sept. 5. The women’s team will attempt to bounce back after falling to both Louisville and Eastern Kentucky at the Woodford Trials.
Freshman Jennifer Kehoe, who won in the two-mile race at the Woodford Trials, will try to stay on top of the competition in this weekend’s meet. “Her training is going well and I think she’ll be competitive this weekend.
I am really looking forward to seeing her in her first 5K race,” Coach Bernadette Madigan said.
The women’s 5K race will begin at 10 a.m., and the men’s 8K at 10:45 a.m. at Kerekiakes Park in Bowling Green. Other schools competing are Mississippi, Georgia, Southern Indiana, Lindsey Wilson, Lincoln Memorial and host Western Kentucky.
