LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky’s junior varsity football team fell to Georgetown College, 48-40, on Thursday, Oct. 8 on Georgetown’s Applebee’s Field.

Georgetown’s Jason Skirvin’s scored a 27-yard touchdown run with 10:35 left in the third quarter and a 27-yard touchdown reception from Eddie Evistion just :14 later, helped the Tigers come back from a 14-12 halftime deficit. Skirvin’s second touchdown was set up on a Drew Ramey interception of UK quarterback Cory Doyle’s pass on Kentucky’s first play after the kickoff.

Georgetown (2-0) dominated the third quarter, scoring 22 points to take the lead 34-14 before Kentucky (1-2) started its comeback. Doyle had touchdown passes of 82 and 14 yards while UK’s backup quarterback Mark Perry had three scoring passes of 25, two and 46 yards to lead the junior varsity squad. The Wildcats could not recover, however, and dropped their second of their five-game season.

Kentucky’s next game will be at Commonwealth Stadium when the Cats play host to Georgia Military on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
