PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – University of Kentucky women’s tennis player Massoumeh Emami’s four-match run at the All-American Championships is over.

Emami was ousted on Friday by 4th-ranked Amanda Augustus of Cal-Berkley, 6-4, 6-2.

Emami’s showing at the Championships was the best for UK in years and Coach Mark Guilbeau seemed encouraged.

“Massoumeh probably played her best match of the year today,” Guilbeau said. “Amanda Augustus is a great player and certainly deserves to be ranked in the top five. Massoumeh gave her a tough match, though, and I couldn’t be more proud of her play.”
