LEXINGTON. Kty. — The first day of the Wildcat Classic gave Kentucky two first-place finishers.

Matt Kavanagh won the 35-pound weight throw with his toss of 61’10.5″, and Keith Kline won the pole vault competition with his jump of 15’00”.Other UK results include Jamie Shannon’s third place finish in the 35-pound weight throw.

Shannon threw for a distance of 59’10.5″, only half an inchfrom second-place Jay Harvard of Georgia. Kentucky’s Chris Daniel won second place in the pole vault after a 15’00″jump.

The Classic will resume at 10:30 Saturday morning at Nutter Field House.
