The University of Kentucky gymnastics team faces its first Southeastern Conference competition in more than a month when it heads to Tuscaloosa to take on No. 1 Alabama on Friday, Feb. 26.
The GymKats (5-4, 0-2 SEC) defeated the Ball State Cardinals last weekend, 194.400 to 191.575. Freshman Katie Toups won the all-around competition with a season-high 39.000. Junior Krissy Hoeferlin and freshman Jennifer Simmons finished second and third, respectively in the all-around.
The GymKats will return home on Friday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum to face No.2 Georgia. In the final home meet of the season, the GymKats will honor their two seniors, Shawnte Hall and Misty Marinik.
