The University of Kentucky softball team begins its second season of play this weekend, as the Wildcats compete in the Fifth Annual Texas-Arlington/Pepsi Intercollegiate Classic in Arlington, Texas. UK will be tested immediately, with two of the Wildcats’ first three games coming against opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association preseason poll. After opening the UTA tournament against Sam Houston State, UK faces No. 11 Oklahoma State in its second game. The Wildcats then face Louisiana Tech in the tournament’s third game. Tech is receiving votes in the NFCA poll and is listed 34th in the voting.
