The University of Kentucky men’s golf team travels to Lakeland, Fla. for the Charley Matlock Collegiate Classic Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8.

This will be the second tournament for UK this spring. The Wildcats, coming off a 12th-place finish in the Gator Invitational, will face stiff competition in the 18-team tournament. Other teams competing are Alabama, Augusta State, Columbus State, Duke, Furman, Florida Southern, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, North Florida, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Tech, and Wofford. The Cats are led by senior Ryan Loghry, who posted a low round of 72 in three fall tournaments, and sophomore Wes Furnish, who shot a low round of 71 in the Gator Invitational. Loghry and Furnish will compete in the tournament along with senior Mike Cassity, junior Jeremy Langley, and freshman Jay Knight.
