LEXINGTON, Kty. – For the second time this week, the University of Kentucky softball team has had its doubleheader cancelled. The team’s Thursday doubleheader at Middle Tennessee State has been called off due to inclement weather in Murfreesboro. The games will not be rescheduled. UK’s doubleheader with South Dakota State was cancelled on Monday thanks to heavy snowfall at game time.

The Wildcats return to action this weekend, playing host to the 1998 Kentucky Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the UK Softball Stadium. Joining UK will be Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Kent State, Wright State and Indiana State. Action begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday as Indiana State takes on Eastern Kentucky in the first of six games.

The tournament continues on Sunday, as Kent State and Indiana State meet at 9 a.m., and concludes when UK takes on Wright State at 5:45 p.m.
