MOBILE, Ala.-The 15th-ranked University of Kentucky men’s tennis team continued its winning ways Friday, besting South Alabama 4-3.
Cedric Kauffmann defeated South Alabama’s Nic Chisholm 6-4, 6-3 in the top singles spot. Kentucky also got wins from No.4 Johan Hesoun and No. 6 Dan Spaner. Spaner and Kauffmann teamed up to top USA’s Chisholm and Laszlo Rethelyi 9-7 to help UK claim the doubles point. The Cats are a riding a six-match win streak, racking up victories over Indiana, Cincinnati, Samford, and SEC rivals Arkansas and Alabama along the way.
The Wildcats return to SEC play Monday, when they travel to Auburn to face the 16th-ranked Tigers.
