The 18th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team tamed theLouisiana State Tigers 8-1 on Thursday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Centeron the UK campus.

The Cats (10-6, 4-4 SEC) won five of six singles matches and swept allthree doubles matches from the Tigers (9-7, 1-6 SEC).

Massoumeh Emami, Christy Sigurski, Kelly Brown, Brooke Skeen and ShannonStafford picked up singles wins for UK, and the tandems of Emami and Brown,Skeen and Sigurski, and Stafford and Carolina Mayorga took home doubles wins.

The Cats return to the courts on Saturday, April 3, when the IndianaHoosiers travel to Lexington for a 9 a.m. dual match.
