‘Cats look to continue solid play of late at El Diablo Invitational.

LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team concludes its spring break tour of Florida this week at the El Diablo Invitational, March 20-21, in Ocala. The Wildcats are coming off one of their best performances of the season at the Silver Spring Shores Invitational, March 11-12, in their only other tournament action during their two weeks in Florida.

Playing at the Country Club of Silver Spring Shores in Ocala, the Cats finished 5th in a field of 19 teams. UK’s team score of 863 was the best 54-hole total for the team during the 1999-00 season. Senior Ron Layman led the way for the Cats by shooting a 215 (71-71-73), tying for 9th place. It was Layman’s second top 10 finish of the season.
