The University of Kentucky junior varsity football team will play host to Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.) on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in Commonwealth Stadium.

The Wildcats (1-0) are coming off a hard-fought 47-45 victory over Campbellsville last week. Hargrave Military should prove to be a more experienced team, having already played four games this season.

“Last week was the first week in a college football game for 75 percent of our team,” UK coach Chris Hatcher said. “This game will be a definite challenge. Hargrave has an excellent football team and we’ll have to play hard and play better than last week.”

Last season the jayvee Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker to the Tigers, 41-40, by a field goal in the final minute of the game. The Wildcats’ starting quarterback, sophomore Cory Doyle, completed 10 of 22 passes for 153 yards last year versus Hargrave Military. Admission is free and fans can enter through Gate 7 of Commonwealth Stadium in the Blue Lot next to Alumni Drive.
