* Three Wildcats — senior wide receiver/kick returner KioSanford, senior offensive guard John Schlarman, and sophomore tight end ChadSpencer — have been named honorable mention on the pre-season All-Americateam published by College Sports News magazine.
* Two Wildcats were honored in the annual Birmingham News pre-season poll of SEC sportsinformation directors. Senior offensive guard John Schlarman was voted tothe pre season All-SEC second team. Senior Kio Sanford was chosen as theleague’s second-best kick returner.
* Having returned from the SEC Spring Meetings last week in Destin, Fla., Coach Hal Mumme has a busy week ahead. On Wednesday, Mumme will travel to Bowling Green for a receptionand speaking engagement with the Logan, Simpson, and Warren County UK AlumniClub. The reception begins at 6 p.m. CDT at the Corvette Museum in BowlingGreen.

At noon CDT, Mumme will attend a luncheon and speak at the West KentuckyCoaches Sports Medicine Symposium. The symposium and luncheon will be heldat Tilghman High School in Paducah. Mumme remains in Paducah Thursday evening for areception with the McCracken County UK AlumniClub. Mumme will speak at Whaler’s Catch Restaurant at 6 p.m. Admission’sfree.

* Eight Wildcats are enrolled in the four-week academic term that ends on Thursday,June 5. The majority of the Wildcats will return to Lexington next week forsummer school and/or strength and conditioning workouts.
