LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky men’s tennis player Grant Roberts was named to the Southeastern Conference’s Community Service Team, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Roberts annually helps out with God’s Pantry in the Lexington area as part of his intense work with UK Athletics off the field. God’s Pantry is dedicated to providing sacked lunches to under-privileged children in the Lexington community. Roberts helps pack those lunches on a yearly basis, and deliver them to the local schools in need. 

Roberts has spent time with the Angel Tree Foundation, as well as time with the University of Kentucky student body is wrapping Christmas presents for the needy every year around the holiday time at the end of the calendar year.

In addition, Roberts also annually can be seen helping out young tennis up-and-comers as they try and master the sport. Roberts works multiple camps per year, spending his time developing the youth to the sport of tennis. 

Roberts will be part of the Wildcats’ postseason run which will begin on Thursday as No. 11 Kentucky takes on No. 9 Mississippi State in the quarterfinals of the 2013 SEC Men’s Tennis Championship in Oxford, Miss.
