LEXINGTON, Ky. – Taylor Schwarz connected for a pair of home runs to lead No. 1 seed Florida to a 9-5 triumph over No. 5 seed Georgia to advance to the championship game of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Saturday at John Cropp Stadium.
Florida will take on the winner of Tennessee vs. Georgia at 8 p.m. ET this evening. The game will air live nationally on ESPN.
Schwarz led the Gator offense which plated nine runs on 12 hits and scored multiple runs in the game’s first three innings. Stephanie Tofft added a 3-for-3 day with two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
Hannah Rogers took a no-hitter into the top of the fifth before Georgia plated three scores. The designated visitors also notched a pair of tallies in the top half of the seventh for the final margin.
