SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Three Kentucky Wildcats advanced to the weekend of the 2014 United States Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the past two days at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.

Matt Hillenbrand got Kentucky off to a strong start on Thursday. Hillenbrand advanced to the USATF Outdoor Championships 1,500m Final with the No. 4 qualifying time, 3:42.72.

That final will take place on Saturday at 5:14 p.m. ET.

Kendra Harrison ran a wind-legal personal best, 12.71 to advance to the next round of the 100m hurdles as the No. 5 qualifier.

Leah Nugent advanced in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.88 for sixth in heat one.

Andrew Evans finished eighth overall in the discus with a throw of 195-7/59.61m.

Allison Peare ran 4:15.54 in heat 1 of the 1,500m prelims. She did not advance, and placed 19th overall. On Thursday, she ran a 800m prelim time of 2:04.79, .66 off her PR, finishing sixth in her prelim & 19th overall.

Kayla Parker ran 13.28 in the 100m hurdles first round, finishing 17th overall. She missed advancing by one spot.
