Team Records and Series Notes

• With the win, Kentucky improves to 2-0, while Ohio drops to 1-1, 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference
• UK now leads the all-time series with Ohio, 4-2.
• UK head coach Mark Stoops, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, is 2-0 against teams from his home state, also posting a win over Miami (Ohio) in his first season.
• The Wildcats are 29-7 all-time against teams that make up the current alignment of the MAC.
• UK has now won the second game of the season for the last 17 years, the second-longest streak in FBS, behind only Oklahoma’s 18 consecutive wins in its second game of the year. Texas A&M has also won 17 consecutive games entering Saturday.
• UK is now 140-121-4 all-time at Commonwealth Stadium.
• UK’s last 2-0 start to a season came in 2011, also its last two-game winning streak.
• Kentucky will return to action on Saturday, traveling to Florida for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Gators to open Southeastern Conference play. The game will be televised on the SEC Network and will be broadcast live on the UK Radio Network, with Tom Leach, Jeff Piecoro and Dick Gabriel voicing the action.

Team Notes

• Kentucky posted shutouts in the first half of its first two games of the year, marking its first back-to-back shutouts in the first half since posting first-half shutouts in 1988 vs. Alabama and LSU.
• UK has outscored its opponents by 62 points to open the year, marking its largest scoring margin through two games since a 76-point margin in 2007.
• UK did now allow an offensive touchdown, marking the first time for the Wildcats since a 2012 win over Samford.
• UK had a 38:26 time of possession, marking its most time of possession since holding the ball 38:44 at Florida in 2000.
• UK was 2-for-4 in its red-zone scoring chances and is now 7-for-9 in 2014.
• For the second consecutive game, UK forced its opponent into a punt on its first possession.
• Kentucky took a 14-0 lead after the first quarter, with the Wildcats outscoring opponents 28-0 in the first quarter in 2014.
• With a 17-0 first-half lead, UK has now outscored its opponents 52-0 in the first half through two games.
• It took UK’s 94th offensive play of the year before the Wildcats allowed a sack.
• UK is now 2-0 when scoring first and 1-0 when scoring on its first drive of the game.
• UK’s 14-play scoring drive in the third quarter was a season long.

  Patrick Towles
  went 17-for-31 in his second career start, with 170 yards passing and one touchdown.
  • Towles also rushed a career-high 22 times for a career-best 59 yards, marking the most rushes for a UK quarterback since Jalen Whitlow rushed it 24 times vs. Missouri in 2013.
  • Towles has seven of UK’s 14 explosive rushing plays in 2014, including six in the win over Ohio.
• Sophomore WR
  Ryan Timmons
  posted new career highs in catches (10) and yards (95)
  • Timmons is the first UK player with double-digit catches since La’Rod King in 2012.
• Freshman WR
  Dorian Baker
  made his first career start, hauling in his first career touchdown.
  • Baker finished two catches for 41 yards.
• Freshman RB Stanley “Boom” Williams took his third carry of the game 53 yards for his first career touchdown.
  • It marked the longest rush of the young career of Williams. 
  • Williams finished with five rushes for 60 yards.
• Senior FB D.J. Warren played in his team-leading 38th career game.

  made his first career start in his ninth career game.
  • Herrick finished with one catch for six yards.

  • MaGinnis made both PAT attempts and is now 10-for-10 on the year.
• Junior punter
  Landon Foster
  punted it five times for a 44.8 yard average.
  • Foster has now punted 135 times in his three-year career, with a 42.2 yard average.

  recorded his first pass break-up of the year and the third of his career.
  • Douglass had two tackles and half a tackle for loss.
    • Douglass now has six tackles for loss in his career.

  • Dupree finished with three tackles and a tackle for a loss.
