Day 1 Results

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice with a team score of 284 (E), which put the Wildcats in a tie for fourth place.

Sophomore Haley Mills led the Wildcats with a two-under par (69), finishing the day in a tie for sixth place. Junior Cylia Damerau also fired an under-par score, shooting a one-under (70), good for a tie for 13th place.

Freshman Grace Rose finished the round in a tie for 28th after shooting a 72 (+1), while sophomore Ale Walker also closed the day in the top 50, with a two-over (73) in a tie for 45th. Junior Sarah Harris finished at four-over par (75) in a tie for 64th.

Tenth ranked UCLA finished day one at the top of the leaderboard with a total team score of 279 (-5). The Bruins had four players finish in the top 20 individually. Completing the top five team standings were sixth ranked Stanford (-2), seventh ranked Northwestern (-2) and eighth ranked Southern California (E).

Rounding out the rest of the top 10 team after the first day were San Jose State (+2), No. 35 Iowa State (+2), No. 12 Pepperdine (+2), top ranked Washington (+2) and No. 28 Arizona State.

The second round of the event continues Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
