LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team continues fall competition at the Tennessee Fall Classic, Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Five Wildcats, Stephanie Fox, Kate Lanier, Taylor Lederman, Kirsten Lewis and Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff will compete at the three-day tournament, hosted by the University of Tennessee. Along with UK and UT, the field includes Ohio State and ETSU.

“We have been training with intent since our performance during our regional tournament,” UK head coach Carlos Drada said. “We are eager to come out and play with a new level of intensity and focus. This weekend is a great opportunity for everyone to learn about themselves as individuals and as a team.”

Competition begins Friday at 2 p.m. ET for the Wildcats when they face ETSU in doubles action, followed by UK and Tennessee in singles at 3 p.m. Saturday, UK faces ETSU in singles at 10 a.m. Ohio State in doubles at noon. The event concludes Sunday with singles at 9 a.m. vs. Ohio State and doubles at 11 a.m. vs. Tennessee.

The 2014-15 Wildcats open the spring season January 13 in Hawaii, while UK hosts its first home contests of the year on Jan. 18 vs. the College of Charleston and Belmont.

Drada and the Wildcats are coming off an impressive 2013-14 campaign that saw Kentucky make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009. UK advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s second round and three Wildcats competed at the NCAA Individual Championships, including Ravita. Drada was named the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Region Coach of the Year, while assistant coach Kevin Calhoun earned Ohio Valley Region Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
