LEXINGTON, Ky. – The sixth-ranked Kentucky rifle team posted a score of 4679 to finish second at the Withrow Invitational this past weekend.
Kentucky scored a total of 4679, its second highest total of the calendar year, and fourth best score of the season.
Murray State won with a score of 4687.
Kentucky scored 2319 in smallbore, and 2360 in air rifle.
Connor Davis led UK with a 592 in smallbore, and he added a 591 in air rifle.
Heather Kirby scored a team-high 594 in air rifle and produced an aggregate score of 1171.
Kirby was UK’s No. 2 scorer in smallbore with a 577. Sonya May and Elijah Ellis both scored 575s, while Jonathan Pinkel rounded out the smallbore scoring with a 574.
In air rifle, Elijah Ellis scored a 590, while May and Pinkel scored 585s.
Kentucky has two regular-season competitions remaining before NCAA Qualifiers. The Wildcats will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday.
