LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball signee Isaiah Briscoe has been named a semifinalist for the 2015 Naismith Boy’s High School Player of the Year award.

Briscoe, who will play in the McDonald’s All-American Game on April 1 at the United Center in Chicago, is one of 10 semifinalists up for the award, which is given annually to the top high school player in the country. The finalists will be named on Feb. 24 and a winner will be announced on March 12.

A 6-foot-3 guard from Newark, N.J., Briscoe is averaging 22.1 points, 4.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 16 games for Roselle Catholic High School. He won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championships and is ranked the No. 9 overall player in the class of 2015 by Rivals and 247Sports.com.

Briscoe is part of a three-man signing class for 2015 that is already among the best in the country. Briscoe will suit up for Kentucky for the 2015-16 season.
