Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky falls to 23-9 overall, while Tennessee improves to 27-4.
  • Kentucky moves to 735-495 (61.1) all-time in 41 seasons of varsity women’s basketball.
  • Matthew Mitchell, UK’s all-time winningest coach, is now 223-109 overall, 193-80 at UK.

First Half Notes

  • UK started with the lineup of Jelleah Sidney, Makayla Epps, Bria Goss, Jennifer O’Neill and Azia Bishop.
    • This lineup is now 3-1.
  • Kentucky held Tennessee without a field goal for the first 7:30 of the game. UT hit its first of six 3’s in the first half.
  • Sophomore Linnae Harper led Kentucky with 11 points and one rebound.
  • Kentucky has now trailed at the half in all three SEC Tournament games this season.
  • UK is now 7-5 this season when trailing at the half.

Second Half Notes

  • UK opened the second half with Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, Bria Goss, Jennifer O’Neill, Makayla Epps and Azia Bishop.
  • Kentucky closed the Tennessee lead to five points on two occasions, but that was as close as UK got in the second half.
  • After 11 first-half turnovers, UK only had four in the second half.

Team/Game Notes

  • UK falls to 6-6 vs. ranked teams this season. The Wildcats have knocked off four top-15 teams.
  • The much bigger Lady Vols won the battle of the boards by just three rebounds at 41-38.
  • The Wildcats had 25 points off of turnovers, outscoring Tennessee by eight in that category.
  • UK had 20 offensive rebounds to Tennessee’s 11.
  • Kentucky outscored Tennessee 28-20 in the paint.

  • Senior guard Bria Goss led Kentucky with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the floor.
    • With one missed free throw, she ending her school-record streak in the second half at 32.
    • Marked her 12th double-figure scoring game this season, and 70th of her career.
    • Made a season-high tying two 3-pointers, moving her up to No. 9 on the all-time made 3’s list at UK with 111 in her career.
    • Marked her first time leading UK in scoring this season.
    • Moved up to fifth on the all-time games played list at UK with 132 in her career.
    • Also moved up in the all-time scoring list to No. 16, passing Belitta Croley (1984-88) with 1,293 points.
  • Sophomore guard Linnae Harper came off the bench for 15 points, to go along with five rebounds and four steals.
    • Marked her 19th game in double figures this season.
  • Senior guard Jennifer O’Neill recorded her 27th double-figure scoring game of the season, including eighth straight with 11 points.
    • Grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Makayla Epps scored 10 points, her 25th game in double figures this season, including second straight.
