AWENDAW, S.C. – Junior David Snyder and freshman Tyler `Chip’ McDaniel became the first duo to finish in the top 10 for Kentucky on the individual leaderboard in the same tournament this season with fourth and ninth place finishes, respectively to wrap up play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Snyder has now led the Wildcats in scoring during every tournament this spring, while McDaniel notched the second career top 10 finish of his young career.

“I am really proud of David Snyder and Chip McDaniel,” UK coach Brian Craig said. “They are both brilliant players and had solid events this week. The bottom line is we need to get them some help for this team to progress. We have the guys to do it and just need to keep working to develop those players.”

Snyder logged his seventh consecutive under par round with a 4-under par, 68, in today’s round. He carded five birdies with just one bogey on the afternoon to wrap up a brilliant week of golf. For the entire 54-hole event, Snyder logged just two positive scores on holes. With a fourth-place finish at Bulls Bay, Snyder has now totaled top 10 finishes in consecutive tournaments for the second time in his career. He has 10 top 10 finishes in his career, including three this season.

McDaniel matched Snyder’s effort with a 4-under par, 68, to conclude the tournament. His round included five birdies and an eagle on the par-five No. 4. He played 2-under par golf over the final eight holes to finish strong. UK’s star freshman has posted 11 under par rounds and finished among the top two finishers for the Wildcats in every event this season. This also marked the second time this season he played under-par golf in all three rounds of action.

UK completed the tournament in 12th place overall. For the second consecutive tournament, UK’s final round score was the best of the three as the Wildcats notched a 287 in today’s round. South Carolina won the tournament and was followed by New Mexico, GRU Augusta, Virginia and College of Charleston and Auburn tying for fifth place.

Freshman Cooper Musselman posted a 1-over par 73. He finished in a tie for 43rd. For the week, Musselman was just 5-over par. Sophomore Stephen Stallings earned a 70th place finish and freshman Cristian DiMarco was 73rd.

UK will return to the links April 6-7 at the Gary Koch Invitational, the final tune-up prior to the Southeastern Conference Championship. The Wildcats will host the event next week in conjunction with Auburn at the Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, N.C.
