The dual meet will be broadcasted live on ACC Network Extra with Don Russell on the call. The action can also be seen through WatchESPN on computers, smartphones or tablets. Live stats will be available on the Meet Mobile app.
The in-state clash will feature 32 competitive events – four diving, 28 swimming. In addition to the usual 1- and 3-meter diving competitions, select divers will compete on platform in an exhibition.
Last season, the Kentucky men’s team defeated Louisville for the first time since the 2007-08 season. On the women’s side, Kentucky gained its second straight win over Louisville.
The Wildcats have been confronted with the toughest schedule in Lars Jorgensen’s seven years leading the program, and Louisville is no exception. Last season, the UofL men’s and women’s teams recorded top-five finishes at the NCAA Championships. It marked the first time in program lineage that both teams earned as high of a finish at the national meet in the same season.
Even with a schedule that features 14 teams who finished inside the top 25 at the 2019 NCAA Championships, Kentucky swimmers have littered the schedule with top performances.
Remarkably, three UK women’s swimmers have posted 200-yard backstroke times that rank in the nation’s top-10 times this season. Senior Asia Seidt has the third-best time in the country with a 1:50.95, senior Ali Galyer recorded the fourth-best time in 1:50.99, while freshman Caitlin Brooks posted the seventh-best time in 1:52.15. The Kentucky women’s team also has seven other times ranked in the nation’s top-10 times this season, including two relays.
On the men’s side, senior Glen Brown is 22nd in the nation in the 200-yard individual medley for his time of 1:45.07 earned in November. The men also have two relays that are among the top 15 in the nation, posting a 6:26.64 in the 800-yard freestyle relay for 14th and a 2:52.60 in the 400-yard freestyle relay for 15th.
Sophomore Danny Zhang ranks ninth in the nation in average-round score on the 3-meter springboard with 63.1 points. Sophomore Kyndal Knight ranks 23rd nationally on the 1-meter springboard with 47.6 PPR and 25th nationally on the 3-meter springboard with 51.8 points PPR.
