Cats Welcome Huge Crowd for Fan Day

by Guy Ramsey

The Kentucky football team enjoyed another successful Fan Day on Saturday, welcoming a huge crowd for the annual event.

“Man, that was a fantastic turnout this morning for Fan Day,” Mark Stoops said. “It’s great to see them all out there and for our players to see that. Hopefully we got everybody accommodated and got all the signatures we could get.”

Fan Day began with an autograph session inside Nutter Field House, with long lines for each positional group. The longest was for UK’s middle linebackers, a group headlined by senior Kash Daniel, a Kentucky native who has established himself as a fan favorite over the last three years.

After autographs, the Wildcats moved to the Joe Craft Football Training Facility for their second practice of fall camp. Fans lined the fields for a first look at the 2019 team, getting a glimpse of both UK’s potential and the work that lays ahead.

“Good second day,” Stoops said. “You guys can tell there’s a lot of good out there and a lot of bad. There’s a long way to go, but that’s why we’re out here practicing. I like their enthusiasm, I like their attitude.”

Only four weeks before the Cats will be back in Kroger Field in front of many of those same fans for their season opener.
