UK Men's Soccer Celebrates End of Academic Year
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky men’s soccer program celebrated the end of the 2019 spring season, and the historic 2018 fall season, on Monday, April 22.
At the dinner, the Wildcats picked up their 2018 C-USA Double winners rings as well as individual awards and player trophies from winning the league regular-season and tournament titles.
The Wildcats defeated College Cup runner-up Akron, 2-1, and drew USL side Louisville City FC as two highlights of the spring 2019 campaign.
Kentucky returns nine regular starters — including All-Americans Enrique Facusse and Aimé Mabika, in addition to All-Conference selections Kalil ElMedkhar, Jason Reyes and Leon Jones — from their record-setting 2018 season. Last fall, UK won the Conference USA double, set the school record for wins, reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, went 5-1 against top-25 opponents and welcomed multiple 3,000-plus crowds to The Bell to name but a few accomplishments.
