Kentucky Faces Indiana in Friday Matinee Match-up
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team will look to snap a three-match losing streak on Friday afternoon, as the Wildcats will travel to Bloomington to face the Indiana Hoosiers at 5 p.m. ET from Bill Armstrong Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network 2Go, and available online through the Big Ten Network app.
UK will be looking to avenge a pair of tight 1-0 losses last weekend, in which the Wildcats dropped an overtime match at Louisville on the road and then a hard-fought loss to EKU.
Kentucky however did get big news last weekend with the return of Miranda Jimenez from concussion protocol and she played significant minutes in both matches. Jimenez is a 2017 Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team winner, and is the leading returning goal scorer from last year for the Wildcats.
IU and UK have not met since the 2010 season, with the series split 4-4-1 in the nine prior meetings. UK is currently on a two-match winning streak in the series, and a three-match unbeaten streak with wins in 2010 and 2002. The last time Indiana beat Kentucky was in 2000 in Bloomington.
