Kentucky Softball’s Bailey Vick Named NFCA All-South Region
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s Bailey Vick was named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-South Region Team, it was announced by the NFCA on Thursday afternoon.
This is the first-career NFCA honor for Vick, who is a sophomore from Paducah, Kentucky. Vick was also named to the 2017 All-SEC Freshman Team and All-SEC Defensive Team. The left fielder was awarded a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team last week.
Vick is hitting over .370 on the year and leads the Wildcats in hits and on-base percentage. Vick is an Accounting major and has a 4.0 GPA. She is one of the most popular Wildcats on the field thanks to her exciting form of play, including speed on the basepaths – helping her to a team-high 16 stolen bases in the regular season.
Kentucky will host the 2018 NCAA Softball Regionals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at John Cropp Stadium. UK will welcome in Michigan, Notre Dame and Illinois-Chicago for the regionals.
Friday’s schedule kicks off at Noon ET with (2) Michigan playing (3) Notre Dame live on ESPN2 from John Cropp Stadium. (1) Kentucky will then follow with its opening game against (4) UIC at 2:30 p.m. ET.
