UKTF to Compete at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH,
N.C. – The outdoor track and field season will continue on for a select group
of Wildcats who will compete at North Carolina State’s Raleigh Relays this
weekend.
Wildcats to watch, upon a superficial look at the entries, include Jacob
Thomson who will make his 10,000-meter debut in a UK uniform on Friday night.
Thomson placed eighth in 29:35.61 at the Raleigh Relays competing for NC State
last year.
Nick Anderson will also run in the 110m hurdles. Anderson has scored at the SEC
Championships in the event each of the past two years.
The 2016 Raleigh Relays includes 2,306 individual entries and 254 relay
teams. More than 100 universities entered athletes in the meet.
The meet will be broadcast on Flotrack
and ESPN3.
FlashResults
will provide live results.
This weekend’s competition will only feature Wildcats from the Kentucky men’s
team.
UK’s women’s team was rated No. 9 nationally to begin the outdoor season in the
United
States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association computer
rankings, on Wednesday.
Kentucky will send a large and diverse group to the Florida Relays next
weekend.
