Former University of Kentucky outfielder Collin Cowgill was called up to the majors in July following a stellar season in Triple-A. He didn’t get off to the hottest start, but a solid September earned him a spot on the Arizona Diamondbacks’ playoff roster.The D’backs are now facing off against the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Divisional Series and Cowgill had yet to see any action, but Cowgill got his chance in a crucial spot. With his team trying to stave off elimination in the fourth game of the NLDS, Cowgill was called upon to pinch hit for pitcher Joe Saunders with runners on second and third and two outs. Cowgill promptly delivered a two-RBI single to left field to extend his team’s lead to 7-3.
