No. 12 Kentucky Baseball Visits No. 3 Louisville on Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 12 Kentucky baseball team will play its fifth consecutive game against a Top 10 opponent Tuesday when the Wildcats take on No. 3 Louisville at 6 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium in Louisville.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN3. The game also will be live on the UK Sports Radio Network, available in Central Kentucky on WLAP 630-AM, in Louisville on WKJK 1080-AM and online at UKathletics.com. Neil Price will call the action for UK Radio.  
Kentucky enters Tuesday’s contest 23-12 on the season and 9-6 in the Southeastern Conference. Including last week’s game against Louisville, three games over the weekend at then-No. 4 Vanderbilt and Tuesday’s game, the Wildcats will have played its fifth-straight game against opponents ranked in the Top 10 nationally. Louisville is 29-7 this season, 13-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and has won five in a row.
 
Sophomore left-hander Zach Logue (1-1, 3.86 ERA) is slated to start on the mound for the Wildcats against Louisville sophomore righty Kade McClure (7-0, 2.41 ERA). Logue, a native of Mason, Ohio, has appeared in nine games with three starts in 2016, working 18.2 innings, allowing 20 hits and seven walks, while striking out 14. McClure has appeared in nine games, featuring seven starts, totaling 41 innings and allowing only 22 hits and 11 walks, striking out 34.
Kentucky is coming off a 3-0  win at Vanderbilt on Sunday, with Kyle Cody going the first seven innings for the victory.  Justin Lewis pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Sean Hjelle notched his sixth save of the season by keeping the Commodores at bay in the ninth.  Catcher Troy Squires provided all the offense with a two-out, bases-loaded double in the seventh inning.  
Kentucky and Louisville played last week at Cliff Hagan Stadium, with UofL winning 9-6.  The Cardinals jumped out to a 7-0 lead but had to hold off a Wildcat rally to preserve the victory.  
 
The meeting on Wednesday will mark the fourth time Kentucky senior outfielder Dorian Hairston and his younger brother, UofL sophomore shortstop Devin, will be meeting in competitive circumstances. Dorian has hit .304 as a senior with three homers and eight RBI. Devin is batting .380 with one home run and 30 RBI.
 
Kentucky leads the all-time series with Louisville, 69-40-1, although the Cardinals have won the last four meetings.
