COLUMBIA, S.C. – In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the Southeastern Conference once again highlighted a Community Service Team for men’s tennis for the 2015-16 season. Kentucky junior Nils Ellefsen was recognized by the SEC for this year’s team.
A mainstay for Kentucky men’s tennis in the community. He has helped around the community, providing service including bell ringing with the salvation army, providing food for those in need and the UK blanket project working in cooperation with the UK Children’s Hospital.
All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men’s and women’s sports being chosen from 1999-2003.
UK will next play on Thursday, April 21, at 2 p.m. in the SEC tournament. The Wildcats earned a first round bye as the fifth seeded team and are set to face the winner of the first round matchup between the twelve-seed Auburn and thirteen-seed Tennessee.
