LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kevin Faulk’s record-tying five touchdown performance overcame arecord-tying performance by Tim Couch as 14th-ranked LouisianaState scored 43 points in the second half for a 63-28 romp overKentucky in the Southeastern Conference.

Faulk carried 28 times for 212 yards and his five TDs matchedCarlos Carson for an LSU (6-2, 4-2 SEC) single-game record.Carson caught five touchdown passes against Rice on September24th, 1977.

Herb Tyler completed 15-of-20 passes for 213 yards and atouchdown for LSU, which was playing for the first time since a36-21 loss to Mississippi two weekends ago.

Couch was 41-of-66 for 410 yards, tying his own SEC record forcompletions. He was 41-of-55 for 324 yards last weekend in a23-13 loss at Georgia.

Kentucky (4-5, 3-3) held a 21-20 halftime lead and lostconsecutive games for the first time this season.
