(About the Indiana defense)
“Indiana has a lot of new players on defense. They’re very young on defense. They’re very comparable to us. They’re a lot quicker than they were last year. Indiana is running the same scheme, so we’re anticipating a lot of the same looks. They’re faster and a lot younger. I guess that’s to be expected with both coaches in second-year programs.”
(About the UK running game)
“It’s certainly important for us to execute better in the running game. I think Coach Morris will take care of that this week. It was mainly just one guy making a mistake on plays. It wasn’t always the same guy.”
(About the Indiana offense)
“I think the quarterback, Antwaan Randle El, is the key to it. They run basically the same type of plays with more option calls. He’s an exciting player. He ad-libs rather than just run the plays the way they’re drawn. That hurts you.”
(About Quentin McCord)
“Quentin McCord has really meant a lot to us, so far. He’s played real well. He gives us a threat at that slot receiver. We can put two slots on the field at the same time when we want to. We never could do that last year. Dougie Allen has done an outstanding job as a back-up.”
(Number of offensive plays desired)
“We’d like to have at least 80 snaps per game. We started no-huddling because we saw we could save about 10 seconds on the play clock. At the end of the game, we had more offensive snaps.”
(About the play of the freshmen)
“It’s meant a lot to get the freshmen experience. Ronnie Riley made a really nice play for us on Saturday. Chris Demaree caused a fumble and made a nice play. A lot of those guys have gotten some good looks.”
